Miramar and Maupuia – Motu Kairangi

In partnership with Miramar and Maupuia Community Centre, we delivered literacy programmes in 2019 for their community members from Strathmore and Raukawa Community Hubs. The course was taught through Māori Tikanga and Kaupapa-based learning mediums. Tauira gained practical skills for daily life and enriched their mātauranga.

NGĀ HAU E WHĀ O PAPARARANGI MARAE

Noho and wānanga for our Te Toi Ahurewa kaupapa-based literacy and numeracy programme were held at Ngā Hau e Whā o Papararangi marae in Papararangi (Newlands) in 2019.

Participants could immerse fully into the Tikanga and Kawa of marae as well as both the spiritual and physical dimensions of mātauranga Māori.

WHITFORD BROWN COMMUNITY CENTRE, PORIRUA

Before the pandemic, we partnered with Whitford Brown Community Centre and delivered a literacy and numeracy programme for a group of tauira with disabilities. The interest and enthusiasm of the students involved made the class valuable and fulfilling.
